The lounge
Three rooms. One philosophy.
Briarwood opened in a converted Germantown brick warehouse in 2007 with twelve chairs, one humidor wall, and a stubborn idea: a cigar isn't a transaction, it's an evening. Sixteen years later we've kept the chairs, doubled the humidor, and added a back bar. The philosophy hasn't moved.
I.
The Front Room
Walk-in humidor and a quiet pair of armchairs. Where a cigar is chosen and a glass is poured before anything else begins.
II.
The Lounge
Leather, brass, a low ceiling, and the long sit. Twelve seats, a back bar, and a Thursday whiskey tasting if you stay late.
III.
The Members' Room
Personal lockers, a private host, and the quietest air-handling in the building. Reserved for members and their guests.

Our back-bar lead, James, posts three pairings each evening. Walk in and order any one as a set — cigar, glass, and a chair held for the length of the smoke.

Cocoa and dried fig from the cigar against the long peat of Lagavulin. A standing Tuesday recommendation.

A heavy Toro and a Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned with a flamed orange peel. Cuts the chocolate and lengthens the smoke.

I joined for the lockers; I stayed for the back room on Thursdays. Briarwood is the only Nashville room where the bartender knows the cigar before he pours the glass.

Before you walk in.
Do I need a membership to walk in?
No. The front humidor and the main lounge are open to walk-ins seven nights a week, no reservation required. The Members' Room and Thursday tastings are reserved for members and their guests.
How does membership work?
Three tiers — Regular ($120/mo + $300 initiation), Reserved Locker ($260/mo + $600 initiation, 12-month minimum), and Founders (by invitation). All tiers include lounge access; the Locker tier adds personal storage and first-look on Friday boutique drops.
What's the age policy?
Briarwood is a 21+ tobacco retail establishment under Tennessee law. We card on entry, every visit, no exceptions. Bring a government-issued photo ID even if you're a regular.
Can I store my own sticks here?
Yes — every Reserved Locker membership includes a climate-controlled personal locker (24 / 48 / 96-count options). Founders members get a deeper locker plus shared access to the cellar for aging.
What about Nashville's smoking ordinances?
Tennessee Code Annotated § 39-17-1801 et seq. exempts age-restricted tobacco retail establishments, which is what Briarwood is. Smoking is permitted indoors throughout our lounge and members' room. We carry medical-grade air handling on a 12-minute full-exchange cycle.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes. Walk-in guests are always welcome in the front and main lounge. Members may bring guests into the Members' Room — Regular gets two passes a month, Locker four, Founders unlimited.
Do you do private events?
We host private buyouts on Sunday and Monday evenings for groups of 12 to 40. Includes a curated humidor selection, a paired back-bar menu, and dedicated staff. Inquire via our contact form for date holds.
Do you offer mail-order from the humidor?
We ship to all states where local law permits adult tobacco sale. Adult-signature required at delivery, no exceptions. Allocations (OpusX, Liga T52) are members-first and ship in tiered windows.

Briarwood Cigar Lounge is an age-restricted tobacco retail establishment under Tennessee law. Government-issued photo ID required for entry, every visit. We do not sell tobacco products to anyone under 21 years of age, in person or by mail.
