The Turrent family has been growing tobacco in the San Andrés Valley of Veracruz since the 1880s. The 1973 line is their tribute to the year the family began exporting to international markets — a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper over a Mexican binder and a triple-origin filler (Mexico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic).

Dark coffee, dark chocolate, raisin, a long finish without sharpness. Medium-Full strength, 60–75 minute burn. The cigar that most surprises Briarwood regulars when they try it — Mexican tobacco is underrepresented in the trade, and this is the cigar that makes the case for it.
