Booking a private event.

What nights can we book a private event?
Private buyouts and tastings run Sunday and Monday evenings, when the lounge isn't open to the general walk-in crowd. Other nights are available by special request for smaller groups that don't require a full buyout — ask when you inquire.
What's the minimum group size?
Group cigar tastings start at 8 guests; full lounge buyouts start at 12. There's no hard cap on a buyout — we've hosted parties up to 40 across all three rooms.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend 3–4 weeks out for a standard buyout and 6–8 weeks for larger corporate events or peak-season weekends (December, wedding season). Date holds are confirmed with a deposit and held for 72 hours while you decide.
Can you accommodate guests who don't smoke cigars?
Absolutely. The back bar runs a full cocktail and whiskey menu independent of the humidor, and non-smoking guests are welcome in every room we book. We just ask that non-smokers know Briarwood is a working cigar lounge throughout the event.
Is there an age requirement for private events?
Yes — every guest must be 21 or older with a government-issued photo ID checked at the door, including private events. Briarwood is an age-restricted tobacco retail establishment under Tennessee law and we don't make exceptions for private bookings.
How does payment work for corporate events?
Corporate accounts can be invoiced with itemized receipts for expense reporting. Private individual bookings pay a deposit to hold the date, with the balance settled the night of the event.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule?
We ask for 72 hours' notice to reschedule without penalty. Cancellations inside that window forfeit the deposit, since we've already turned away other private-event inquiries for that date.
