Boutique is where Briarwood spends most of its allocation relationships. Padrón Anniversary, Arturo Fuente OpusX, Drew Estate Liga Privada, Tatuaje Black — these are the cigars the houses don't make enough of, and the ones we work hardest to keep on the shelf.
Friday mornings the boxes come off the truck and into the walk-in. By noon members have first look; by Saturday afternoon what's left is on the floor for the general roster. Call the host before 4pm Thursday if you want a box held — Marcus will set it aside.

For first-timers
Briarwood gets walk-ins every week who've never smoked a premium cigar. We've written the same four sentences enough times that they're now on this page.
Boutique doesn't mean strong.
Boutique just means small-batch. Some boutique cigars are mild (Davidoff Winston Churchill); others are full (Drew Estate Liga No. 9). Ask the host what fits.
Don't inhale.
Premium cigar smoke is meant to stay in the mouth — let it sit on the palate for a few seconds before exhaling. Inhaling is unpleasant and unnecessary.
Plan the time.
Boutique cigars run 60–90 minutes. Don't start one with twenty minutes on the clock. Save the short sit for the Hemingway Short Story in the Daily Burns.
Drink between draws.
Roughly every minute, not every draw. Cigar pacing is closer to a wine course than a cigarette.
