Solid lost-wax-cast brass, hand-polished and lacquer-sealed to keep the surface from oxidizing in a humid room. The cutter blades are high-carbon stainless, mounted on a brass yoke. The lighter is a single-flame butane unit with a brass body and a steel-lined chamber.
Cutter: Double-guillotine, 56-ring gauge cut. Lighter: Single-flame butane, refillable. Finish: Hand-rubbed brass, lacquer-sealed. Box: Cedar-lined presentation case.
Three letters, hand-engraved on the cutter back-plate or lighter base — your choice of plain block or a small italic script. Adds $20 to the set and a 7-day lead time. Both pieces can be engraved, or just one — make the call at checkout.
Sets purchased in-store can also be engraved on the spot if the engraver is in (Tuesday + Thursday afternoons).
The brasswork is warranted for life — we'll re-polish, replace springs, or refit the blade assembly free for any original purchaser, in perpetuity. Send the piece to the lounge and we'll turn it around in 10 business days.
The lighter's butane gasket is a wear item and isn't covered, but we keep replacements in stock at the lounge and ship them free to warranty-card holders.

Unengraved sets are returnable for 30 days. Engraved sets are final sale, but anything that fails inside the lifetime warranty window gets repaired or replaced regardless.

Eighteen months in and the brass has the warm hand-rubbed patina I was hoping for. Cutter takes a 56-ring Padrón Anniversary without crushing the cap, lighter holds a flame in a porch breeze. Had the cutter monogrammed — engraving is crisp and shallow enough that it'll outlast the lacquer. This is the gift I now give every groomsman.
Replaced a Xikar I'd carried for a decade and the difference is real — the brass yoke gives the blade a heavier, more confident close, and there's no rattle in the body. Box-press torpedos cut clean on the first try. The cedar presentation case is a thoughtful touch; mine lives on the cellar shelf with the warranty card tucked inside.
Bought during a lounge visit and the engraver did the monogram while I had a flight. Three letters on the cutter back-plate, italic script — twenty bucks and seven minutes well spent. The lighter's single flame is precise enough to toast a foot without scorching the wrapper, which is more than I can say for the torch I retired. Lifetime warranty is the kicker.
Beautiful set, no complaints on the cutter — blades are sharp and the action is satisfying. The lighter, though, needed two refills inside a month of moderate use, which is more butane appetite than I expected at this price. Briarwood sent a replacement gasket free under the warranty card so I'll knock one star and not three. Still my daily-carry pair.
