Arturo Fuente
Châteu de la Fuente puro. Allocation only — members get first look on Fridays.
The cigar Carlos Fuente Sr. spent twenty years insisting could not be grown in the Dominican Republic, then grew anyway. OpusX is a Dominican puro from the Fuente family's Château de la Fuente farm in El Caribe — the wrapper, binder, and filler all from a single estate, an arrangement that exists nowhere else in the trade. The result is a cigar that tastes like Dominican tobacco and nothing else.
The Robusto vitola opens on cedar and warm pepper, settles into espresso and dried orange, finishes with a long, smooth sweetness near the band. Full strength but never harsh — the Châteu wrapper carries the heat through cleanly. Burn is 60–80 minutes; the cigar rewards the slow draw and punishes the rushed one.
OpusX ships to Briarwood in tight allocation. Reserved Locker and Founders members get first look on Fridays; what's left lands on the shelf Saturday afternoon. If you want a box held, call the host before 4pm — Marcus will set it aside.
