Drew Estate Liga Privada No. 9 Toro

Liga Privada No. 9 began as Steve Saka's personal blend at Drew Estate — never meant for retail, never meant for production. The wrapper is a Connecticut stalk-cut Habano, the binder Brazilian Mata Fina, the filler a Nicaraguan-Dominican-Honduran blend that took twelve revisions before Saka would sign off.

Dark chocolate, black pepper, and leather. The Toro is the standing house recommendation — six inches lets the cigar develop without rushing, and the 52 ring gauge keeps the burn slow. Full strength, but the Brazilian binder keeps the smoke dense and round rather than sharp.

Briarwood carries the No. 9 in three vitolas plus the T52 sibling line. The Wednesday-night following sits at the back bar and orders these in pairs.
